(Oct.8) Lover Never Dies (aka Blocked) held a press conference for the premiere in Hangzhou. The urban action-comdedy film opens nationwide on Oct.14. Recently, it was feared that the film's release would be delayed because of a controversy surrounding a couple of the cast members. Two of the actors, husband and wife, Sun Haiying and Lv Luping attracted much attention and boycott threats for making anti-gay remarks earlier this year.

Wow, I still have no idea what this movie is about. At first I thought it was a Chinese version of Weekend, but now it looks like a cross between Chungking Express and Fast Five. Not that that's a bad thing, mind you.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about the Lu Liping/Sun Haiying controversy. I'd read before that they are conservative evangelical Christians so I'm not surprised about any anti-gay comments.
From the trailer, it seems that there's a fantasy/dream element to with the traffic jam acting as the hub.
