Joan Chen is back working behind the camera as director and screenwriter for "SARS Sweetheart" set in Shanghai during the SARS epidemic. The short film, produced by Alexi Tan, is one of a series of female-directed shorts in the "ELLE 5.20 I Love You" series. Jiang Yiyan and South Korean actor Teo Yoo are the leads in Chen's film.
Two days ago, comic actor Peng Bo ("Crazy Stone", "Crazy GPS", "Crazy Stupid Thieves") was seriously injured in an auto accident in Shanghai and is in the intensive care unit in the hospital. His assistant was driving the car when he tried to overtake an oncoming truck to catch up with a crew vehicle before it hit a tree on the roadside. Peng was resting in the back seat when the accident happened. An updated report says that his condition has stabilized today.

Lin Chi-Ling plays twin sisters in the film and director Chen said he would submit her nomination for the Golden Horse Awards as both best actress and best supporting actress.
Elanne Kong, Liu Kai-Chi, Tse Kwan-Ho and other cast members attended the Beijing premiere press conference of Derek Chiu's film, 72 Heroes (lit. Bloody Heroes), commemorating the 1911 revolution. The all-star cast includes Alan Tam, Eric Tsang, Irene Wan, et al. The film is also scheduled for the Los Angeles Chinese America Film Festival on October 7.

Jiang Yiyan - July Marie Claire
Besides appearing in two films currently in theaters, The Pretending Lovers and Rest on Your Shoulders, the busy actress is working on Gordon Chan's The Four Marshals. Jiang Yiyan is also now starring on stage in a drama (lit. "July and Quiet") with performances in Beijing and Shanghai.
