CF:Acclaimed Actor Chen Qiang Dies at 94
[The article doesn't mention it but he is the father of Chen Peisi. And I highly recommend "Father and Son's Car" and "The Silly Manager", as well as "Make Ten Million", all of which feature the pair in wry comedies before the boomtimes in China surfaced.]

Two period action dramas, Taiwan's Warriors of the Rainbow: Seediq Bale and China's Let the Bullets Fly, have the most nominations for Taiwan's Golden Horse Awards. With 11 and 9 nominations respectively, they directly compete in 5 categories.

Felix Wong and Max Mok have been secretly practicing their horseback riding in preparation for a new action film (lit. Reports from earlier in the spring indicated a superstar cast including Simon Yam, Anthony Wong, Francis Ng, Lam Suet, Zhang Jingchu and others. It remains to be seen whether this is accurate or just pre-production hype. (Sina), (Mtime)

Jennifer Tse next?

Yesterday, when asked by reporters if she was next to get married, Jennifer Tse said that she is ready and would not be a surprise if boyfriend Andy On proposed. She would, of course, accept.

In other related news, it was reported that Gigi had chosen to get married on the eve of her former lover Ekin Cheng's 44th birthday, so as to show him that she could get married before he does.
Another report claimed that Ekin and girlfriend Yoyo Mung will register for marriage in the US, in spring next year. That was why Gigi chose to get married suddenly.

Interestingly, while the statement warned the media about making claims that Lai and Lok's 3-year marriage is on the rocks, it did not mention anything about the condition of their relationship.
32-year-old Chinese actress Zhang Ziyi, whom a number of media reports have claimed as being the woman who came between Lai and his wife, has also taken action to deal with the negative rumours about herself.

The newlyweds will reportedly spend their honeymoon in Europe and will stay in Germany for a while before relocating to London.
It is believed that Sonija will stay in Beijing with her husband and only return to Hong Kong, if she needs to work.

Josie Ho back in action with the Uni Boys band

It's been almost three years since Josie Ho Chiu-yee released her last album but the star is back in action.

Releasing a new extended-play record called The Third Eye with her band the Uni Boys (named after her beloved dog Uni), Ho channelled her inner rock goddess at a launch party and mini concert on Monday at the Diesel store on Queen's Road Central. The five-piece band rocked up a storm and the music was so heavy that at least one guest went "deaf" after three songs.

Stealing the scene was Edison Chen Koon-hei, a rumoured catalyst of star couple Nicholas Tse Ting-fung and Cecilia Cheung Pak-chi's marriage dispute. The singer-actor showed up to support the band, but left before the concert wrapped up. SCMP
