"Full Circle," the latest production of Zhang Yang, who is regarded as a member of the sixth generation of Chinese directors, is slated for release on Mother's Day (May 8).

"Fengkuang De Chunzei" ("Crazy Stupid Thief") the latest entry of "Fengkuang" franchise, came in third on the domestic films chart this week with$1.34 million. "I Do"made a disappointing $0.81 million this week. Its predicted to cross $12.69 million in the next week.

Stephen Chow's "Kung Fu Hustle" co-star Bruce Leung recently lashed out at Chow's film company Star Overseas over a contractual dispute.

Eva Huang [Shengyi], who worked with Chow in 2004's "Kung Fu Hustle", left Star Overseas after an unhappy legal tussle over contractual issues, as did Kitty Zhang [Yuqi], who starred alongside Chow in his 2008 film "CJ7".

THR: Korean WWII Film Promises Big Action, Bigger Drama
“We aimed to provide visual effects that haven’t been seen before in a war movie, but My Way is essentially a dramaa bout humanist values,” said director Kang Je-kyu, who ends a seven-year hiatus since helming Taegukgi, a Korean War flick that became one of the highest-grossing films in local box office history.

The new film has been making headlines for bringing together three of Asia’s hottest superstars, including Jang, Odagiri and Chinese actress Fan Bingbing.

The film is slated to open in Korea in December and in Japan on Jan. 14, 2012. Discussions are underway for distribution dates in China and the United States, which are expected to fall sometime around mid-January next year.

Laughing Gor - I'm back

Francis Ng - I'm bad

Turning Point Extreme, a new Laughing Gor film based on the TVB series Lives of Omission,  is set to begin shooting on October 20. The cast includes Michael Tse, Bosco Wong, Kate Tsui, Francis Ng and MC Jin. Francis Ng will play the villain. Fala Chen will not return, the female lead will be Rebecca Zhu, Miss Hong Kong 2011.(Sina)

THR: Asia Pays Tribute to Steve Jobs
China's microblogging site Weibo created a special page for tributes, which by late afternoon Thursday had received almost 36 million posts. "God wanted to use the iPhone 5, so he took Jobs back right after the iPhone 4S launch," one user posted. Weibo's parent company Sina.com made a separate commemoration page with articles and photos of the Apple founder. The country's largest online video site, Youku, created a 55-minute tribute to Jobs, comprised of his best presentations and speeches.

Huang Yi was hospitalized while in Hong Kong yesterday to promote her new film The Woman Knight of Mirror Lake. She was suffering from sudden stomach cramps and cold sweats pain. When Huang Yi tried to recover in break room with staff, her condition did not improve and she was sent to a hospital. Huang Yi was diagnosed with gastritis and given an injection and painkillers by doctors. Meanwhile, doctors recommended bed rest but as Woman Knight is her first starring film, Huang Yi hoped to continue working.

Fan Bingbing will play imperial consort Yang Guifei, one of the four legendary beauties of Ancient China, in Kwak Jae-Yong's same-titled "Yang Guifei". And Wang Leehom will play poet Li Bai in this China-Japan-South Korea co-production. The core of the story will be centered around war and palace intrigues. Fan Bingbing played the role once before in a 2007 TV series, Tang Paradise. Also, Antoine Fuqua is making another version concerning the romance between Yang Guifei and Tang Emperor Xuanzong. Fuqua had been trying to invite Zhang Ziyi and Chow Yun-Fat but he may make another film about Tupac Shakur first.
