"My Lucky Star" opens Sept. 17. Here are new character posters of the leads, Zhang Ziyi and Wang Leehom, plus trailers below.

The singer is 22 year-old Yin Xishui, a contestant on Hunan TV Satellite's X Factor program. Zhang Ziyi was Yin's mentor which also included Eason Chan and Lo Ta-Yu. After his elimination, Zhang invited Yin to sing the theme song for "My Lucky Star". [More Yin Xishui in an upcoming post.]

Variety: Ziyi Zhang’s ‘My Lucky Star’ Set For North American Release
China Lion has acquired North American rights to Ziyi Zhang’s “My Lucky Star” and will release the Chinese-language comedy Sept. 20 in North America day-and-date with Mainland China.

The film is set for a limited release in the U.S. and Canada in metro areas, including Boston, Chicago, Honolulu, Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, Seattle, Toronto, Vancouver and the Washington, D.C., area.

FBA: Roy Chow to direct Wong Fei-hung reboot

Some new publicity stills of Zhang Ziyi in "My Lucky Star" issued today showing the actress in an array of costumes. The release of the film has been moved up two days to September 17.

The film's director, Dennie Gordon, is a veteran of American TV and film with credits including: "Chicago Hope", "Picket Fences", "Dawson's Creek", "Ally McBeal", "The Practice", "30 Rock", "The Office", "Joe Dirt" and "What a Girl Wants".
