The advertisement in the Apple Daily asks if Hong Kongers approve of spending HK$1,000,000 (US$128,925) every 18 minutes to take care of children borne by mainland parents and declares that "Hong Kong people have had enough!"

CF: "Dragon Inn" to Return to the Silver Screen
Wu [Ng See-Yuen] revealed that the original story line will remain unaltered but the picture and sound quality will be upgraded with the help of the latest technology. The movie has been dubbed with mandarin dialogue and will only be screened on the Chinese Mainland for the time being.

The big gripe doing the rounds is that it does not live up to the promise of the title. That's the grumble from hard-porn- hardened youngsters who paid the HK$100 ticket price to gaze at it on one of 73 screens in Hong Kong.
"Why would a porn flick show more piercing cries rather than moans of ecstasy? Why would a porn flick turn into a horror movie? Why would it contain head explosions, disembowelment and dismemberment? I watch porn because I want to see people having sex, not murdering each other."

Cecilia Cheung’s days as famous actress numbered
Cecilia Cheung is facing a boycott threat from a Chinese production company if she does not finish filming The Lady General of the Yang Family.
Major Chinese newspapers reported that Shanghai Film Studio, the second largest film production house in China, had threatened to withdraw its investment of the film if it was not wrapped up by the end of the month.
Cheung was scheduled to shoot 47 sets but discontinued after completing only 31.
This agitated the production house, which threatened to boycott all films by the Hong Kong actress.
“The boycott is expected to affect Cheung’s reputation as an actress,” one newspaper reported.
