Rosamund Kwan Chi-Lam, was a beauty even as a child. In school, she was called 'pretty little princess' and 'school beauty'. Both her parents were famous actors, father Kwan Shan and mother Zhang Bing-qian. They both started with Great Wall Studio and Kwan Shan later went on to work for Shaw Brothers. In 1972, Kwan Shan formed his own company and produced and starred in The Brutal Boxer. He migrated to the US in 1982. Mother Zhang Bing-qian starred in many costume period and Shaoxing opera films for Great Wall. Rosamund has been estranged from her father for a number of years.
