"Shaolin" is being released in China and the Philippines on Wednesday; in Australia on Thursday; in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia on Friday; and in Vietnam on Feb. 18.
Formulaic but effective tearjerker about two young boxers and the women in their lives.
One online comment asked how the relevant authorities could give the green light to such a subversive movie. Indeed, this is puzzling. Maybe because Let The Bullets Fly makes cinema a venue for people to vent their discontent and anger over current social evils and injustice, and in this way helps to sustain social stability.

The film is a love story between a Chinese girl and a German guy. Their relationship is mainly over the phone at the beginning. Then the girl travels to Germany with the money she saved from working in a flower shop.
Part of the film was shot in Chongqing, the southwestern Chinese city on the bank of the Yangtze River, where the love story starts.
Jiang Yiyan was known by the German media as "The Most Beautiful and Real Oriental Girl" for her great appearance and acting in her previous films.

Lead actors show up one by one in the 75-second trailer which follows the assassination plot targeting a retired murderess.
"The theme of the film is not about assassins and revenge but about love, which is the core message of my films. People should search for a way to get along with each other instead of hate and grudge," John Woo was quoted by Sina.com.cn as saying.

Collin Chou came from a family of 13 brothers and sisters. His father died when he was young. In order to get an education, his mother sent him and his brothers to an orphanage. He started apprenticing at age 6 by learning to carve, by 9 years of age he apprenticed at a bakery so the family could eat. When he was 12 he was working the ovens at the bakery. Next door to the bakery, he learned to use nunchukus. Later, he move to Taiwan and learned to fight and worked in films as a stand-in. (Sina)

Galloping Horse spokesman said that the 29 second trailer was not official. Surprisingly, the teaser showed no stars and was only captioned.
