Faye Wong finished her series of concerts in Hong Kong. She dedicated her song Heart Sutra to the victims of the earthquakes in Japan and Yunnan. Guests in the audience included Eason Chan, Sandy Lam, Mona Fong, and Virginia Lok. Faye considered cancelling the post-concert celebration party but after discussions decided to carry on as planned in order to cherish and celebrate the company of friends and family.

Kelly Chen's home in Kadoorie Hill was staked out by the media but there were no signs of Kelly and her family. Besides her age, the additional complications of having twins, Kelly's work scheduled were speculated by the media as possible factors in her having the miscarriage. (Sina)
According to media reports, Kelly Chen had known early in March there were problems with her pregnancy. Due to her unstable condition, her doctor had ordered her to five days bed rest. Thus, she was in the hospital when the miscarriage of her twins occured. (Sina)

Friday, Yunnan Province experienced a 5.8 earthquake near where Johnnie To and cast are filming High Altitude Romance. More than twenty people died when buildings collapsed. Sammi assured fans that she was safe via her microblog. (Sina)



The spa featured in Feng Xiaogang's If You Are the One in Hokodate, Hokkaido was reported flooded by the tsunami this weekend. The location became a popular site with Chinese site after the movie's release. 2009: Hit China movie aids Hokkaido's tourism Feng's After Shock was set for release in Japan on March 26 but is likely to be postponed now. Pang Ho-Cheung and Peggy Chiao were in Tokyo and Osaka during the earthquake and microblogged their experience of it. (Sina)

THR: 'City of Life and Death' Gets North American Distribution
City of Life and Death, the award-winning Nanjing Massacre film by Chinese writer-director Lu Chuan, will screen in North America this spring.

Tang Wei plays a woman named Anna who is released from prison on probation for 3 days. She meets Hyun Bin's character on her way to Seattle, and they fall in love after spending a day together. But Anna must return to prison after three days, while Hyun, who is a counterfeiter, is being chased by police.
China's first 3-D animated film, "Little Big Panda", will be released in cinemas on February 3.

Singapore-based company has unveiled a video jukebox dubbed ZiiEagle. While the product name provides little hint of its capability, the ZiiEagle is supposed to be a movie box preloaded with 668 Shaw Brothers Chinese films. The collection includes The Kingdom and the Beauty and One-Armed Swordsman, which should appeal to classic movie buffs, as well as retirees. Included in the package are also around 200 titles not released on DVDs and TV. (Cnet - Crave)

The movie tells the story of a van driver (Louis Koo) who kills a restaurant owner (Yin Xiaotian) in a car accident. When he finds out that Yin's wife (Huang Yi) is pregnant and has to work hard to run her husband's business, he decides to help her even though it may anger his girlfriend (Karen Mok). (Sina)

14 year-old Zhou Mengqiao is thought to be the latest of 13 'mou girls' to be cast in Zhang Yimou's 13 Women of Jinling (aka Nanjing). In recent weeks Zhang has been training and auditioning young girls to play in his latest production. Also, Zhang has been trying to cast a big name Hollywood name in the film. Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt and Tom Hanks were in the running, Hanks' fee was reportedly half the film's budget. The latest rumor is that Leonardo DiCaprio has agreed to appear but an official announcement is pending. (Sina)
