Wong Kar-wai has kept himself busy in between filming his much-anticipated kung fu flick The Grandmasters with a cosmetics project for Japanese beauty brand Shu Uemura. The legendary filmmaker now has a cosmetics collection to add to his slew of artistic achievements.
Reporters from the mainland, Taiwan and Japan were flown in for the media world premiere of Wong's collection at Wan Chai's Agnes b. Cinema on Tuesday, and a 45-second commercial he created for Shu Uemura's holiday collection.
The campaign girl, award-winning actress Sandrine Pinna, and Shu Uemura international artistic director Kakuyasu Uchiide sat down for a chat about the collaboration. Both talked highly of Wong, who was not at the event.

"It was very exciting working with him. I definitely learned a lot from the experience. I feel that it has brought out a different side of me," Pinna said.
Anyone would have felt different wearing heavy silver and blue eye colours, fierce red lips and glittering lashes. The commercial certainly fit its title, Mask, as it was difficult to even recognise Pinna.
Uchiide celebrated the holiday season with the Wong Kar-wai collection colour palette; he also played the soundtrack from Wong's In the Mood for Love.
The crowd gathered again in the evening for a party at the China Club with local stars.
