Francis Ng arrived in court with his lawyer for a hearing and pled not guilty to the assault charges in the New Year's Day bakery incident. The judge adjourned the trial until Apr.1 and the actor posted a $5000 bond. Francis said his lawyer claimed no closed circuit video showed him beating anyone. (15) (Sina) (HunanTV)

Young and Dangerous star Francis Ng Chun-yu has denied hitting a man and tearing his ear during a scuffle at a bakery.
Ng, 48, whose real name is Francis Ng Chi-keung, pleaded not guilty at Kowloon City Magistrates' Court to wounding Ming Chi- hong at Ceres Boulangerie et Patisserie in Fuk Lo Tsun Road, Kowloon City, on January 1.
The charge carries a maximum penalty of three years in jail.
Principal Magistrate Andrew Ma Ho-cheung adjourned the case until April 1, and released Ng on HK$ 5,000 bail.
There will be five prosecution witnesses, with a surveillance tape also offered as evidence. The court was told Ng and his wife allegedly argued with another couple at the bakery.
Ng, whose career took off in the 1996 triad tale, has since won the HK Film Critics Society best actor award three times.

So Beauty on Duty opens 1 April. I wonder what the chances are that it will still be in theaters when I get there on April 17? Maybe since the Twins concerts will get a lot of press.
I was shocked at Christmas how quickly things left theaters to make room for Avatar and Twilight 2.

True, but I'm guessing that perhaps the servant girl she plays is a bit of a simpleton. Like Wang Baoqiang (World Without Thieves, Blind Shaft, et al), I hope she breaks away from that typecasting. (I still haven't seen Night and Fog yet.)
I got Night and Fog and Red River at HMV in HK and I'm going to watch them as soon as I knock the rest of the Shaw titles I purchased.
Come to think of it, Gong Li was not exactly super funny in Flirting Scholar or God of Gamblers 3: Back to Shanghai, right? Pretty but not there to be the funny one.
