Speaking in Harbin, John Woo said that he expects Daniel Wu, Huang Bo and Liu Ye to play major roles in his upcoming Flying Tigers film. The film will feature five Chinese and five US pilots. Nicholas Cage and John Travolta have been named as possible cast members. Three US actresses will play nurses as well as Chinese actresses portraying guerillas and nurses. One of the roles will be played by his daughter. (Sina) (Xinhua)

The dormant production of the biography of Robert Ripley, of Believe It or Not fame, has been revived according to Hollywood reports. The original cast featuring Jim Carrey and Gong Li remain intact. Director Tim Burton has been replaced by Chris Columbus (Harry Potter and the Sorrceror's Stone). (Sina), (sohu)

Recent photos posted on Weibo suggest an upcoming action collaboration between Wang Baoqiang, Tony Ching Siu-Tung, Johnnie To and Wai Ka-Fai. Wang studied marital arts at the Shaolin Temple as a youth before going to Beijing at age 14 to find fame and fortune in the movie business. He was inspired after seeing Jet Li's Shaolin Temple in his village when he was 8 years old.

That animated news story is so awesome! I loved the bits with Chua's daughter being forced to stand on hot coals while practicing violin and the Western mom bringing snacks to her son while he takes bong hits on the couch in the living room. :D

I love these animations, too. I thought the prisoners uniform clothing on the kids were a nice touch. :D
