"Remake Competition" words sure to chill the heart of any film fan.

Where's the 3-D to make it worse?

Well, Beijing Film Academy and Youth Film Studio seem to be respected institutions and I can't question Sylvia Chang's bona fides , so I'll remain optimistic for now.

I recently watched "Shanghai" - Gong Li is very enthralling in the movie. :) (one reviewer said he couldn't keep his eyes off her!). I enjoyed the movie, although some critics only said it was so-so. It's supposed to be released in the US later this year. Kind of surprised that she's never been to S. Korea before.

I only recall lukewarm reviews for 'Shanghai', too. Does CYF have much to do in the film?
