Honestly, the situation in Japan seems dire. Circumstances are worsening, official reports appear sugar-coated and the response so far does not appear effective. The citizens, surely, feel frustrated and abandoned. But let's, at least, recognize the bravery of the Fukushima 50.

Hong Kong director Stanley Kwan’s new film features a large ensemble cast, all the action takes place aboard a bus, and it runs just 13 minutes.

Lu Chuan quietly started production on his new film, historical drama The Last Supper, on Wednesday 9 March on the outskirts of Beijing. The film's international title was only decided today. (vide. King's Feast)

The film (Summer Love...?) has begun filming in Sanya, Hainan and features lots of girls in bikinis.

Barbara Wong Chun-Chun recently confirmed that she will be making a new version of Mulan. She promised an unconventional take on the story. The first draft of the script is complete and plans are to begin filming in June or July. (Sina)

 Stephen Fung, newly-signed to Huayi Brothers, and Daniel Wu held a press conference to announce the formation of their new production company, Diversion Pictures, with Huayi as backers. Stephen will be CEO and Daniel, the president of the company. As previously announced, the first production will be 'Tai Chi' to be directed by Fung who promised a breakout first film. When asked if he would appear in the the film, Daniel Wu was unwilling to disclose the cast. Fung said that the script was completed and that shooting would begin in June.

Raymond Lam Fung and Mavis Pan Shuangshuang had been dating for the past few months but had broken up since. Raymond admitted it at a recent TVB program press conference after photos of the pair on a bed were leaked. They met while filming The Emerald and The Pearl last year.

GREAT news about the Yonfan...assuming someone like the Weinsteins aren't the ones who get the rights (no flying guys with swords in those, so probably not).

I had a beautiful edition of Last Romance but I mistakenly traded it to a guy for 4 SB IVL/Celestial DVDs. It will be nice to get that film back eventually.

I remember my copy of Last Romance came with a frame of film of the movie. Where either one of them now is a mystery to me. Somewhere around here! ;D

Yes, that's the version I had too. Stills and a frame. Nice packaging. I think my Peony Pavilion is just as nice. I still have that one.
